Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At its core, our business is about providing quality medicine and contributing to overall health. Synnat believes that while we are growing, we are also obligated to society, and the group regularly works to uplift the underprivileged by providing financial assistance in education and health care.

At SPPL, our Corporate Social Responsibility programmes are not just a part of our business. They are our purpose. We focus on an integrated business model with social and environmental priorities to create shared value. Here are a few areas we focus on annually.

Empowering Education for the Underprivileged

Team SPPL’s commitment to education has ignited positive change in the lives of underprivileged communities. Let’s delve into their impactful projects:

1.Ramakrishna Mission School, Narendrapur, West Bengal

SPPL actively contributed to constructing a primary school building at Ramakrishna Mission. This endeavour ensures that young minds have a safe and conducive environment for learning.

SPPL was pivotal in aiding the construction and inauguration of an 8-classroom block at BVK School. This project, complete with a toilet block and staircase, will benefit approximately 500 children in Kirlampudi.

Compassionate Initiative

SPPL recently extended a helping hand to those who need it most in a heart-warming endeavour to make a positive impact—the setting: Central Jail in Visakhapatnam, India.

1.The Gift of Menstrual Cups

SPPL donated over 100 menstrual cups to female inmates at the Central Jail. These innovative alternatives to traditional tampons and sanitary pads have various health benefits. Unlike disposable products, menstrual cups are reusable, eco-friendly, and cost-effective—a crucial consideration in correctional facilities.

SPPL organised a comprehensive workshop led by two lady doctors to ensure effective utilisation. The workshop was thoughtfully conducted in Telugu and Hindi, recognising the linguistic diversity of the prison population. Inmates and staff received detailed guidance on how to use and maintain menstrual cups. The doctors addressed concerns, dispelled myths, and left the participants feeling informed and empowered.

Empowering Healthcare at Government Victoria Hospital (GHOSHA)

In a heartfelt commitment to critical healthcare services, SPPL has stepped up this year by providing a much-needed funds booster to Government Victoria Hospital (GHOSHA). With a remarkable legacy spanning 124 years, GHOSHA has been a lifeline for the Visakhapatnam community, particularly in maternal and childcare services.

Here’s why GHOSHA matters:
  • Surgical Excellence: GHOSHA performs an impressive 35 surgeries daily, totalling 12,100 surgeries annually. Their expanded surgical capacity enables the hospital to address urgent healthcare needs effectively.

  • Outpatient Support: With approximately 70,000 outpatient consultations annually, GHOSHA provides vital medical assistance to those seeking care. These consultations bridge gaps and ensure timely interventions.

  • Inpatient Care: GHOSHA admits around 16,000 patients annually, ensuring that even underprivileged communities can access quality healthcare. The hospital’s commitment extends beyond numbers—it’s about improving lives.

  • High-Risk Surgeries: GHOSHA doesn’t shy away from high-risk cases. They perform close to 100 high-risk surgeries monthly—procedures that outpatients often can’t afford elsewhere. Additionally, they handle 600 monthly regular deliveries, supporting mothers and newborns.

  • Synnat’s Contribution: Team Synnat played a crucial role by procuring essential equipment—their donation impacts over 10,000 patients treated annually at GHOSHA. From diagnostics to life-saving tools, this support makes a difference.

  • Press Meet: The initiative garnered attention. A formal press meeting featured GOSHA doctors, the Mayor, and other honourable individuals associated with the hospital. Media coverage captured the spirit of compassion and commitment.

GHOSHA isn’t just a hospital; it’s a beacon of hope. SPPL’s investment in healthcare echoes their dedication to making a lasting impact—one patient at a time.
